Boundary coaching
Boundary coaching is a goal-oriented service distinct from therapy.
This offering is designed to help individuals identify, set, and maintain healthy boundaries in various relational contexts, including with family, friends, partners, colleagues, and more. Coaching focuses on helping individuals achieve specific goals through practical support and is more focused work than therapy.
I am now offering a three-session series, each 90 minutes long:
Session 1: Explore and understand your unique challenges with boundaries, identify your boundary needs, and share resources.
Session 2: Learn to set boundaries with real-life examples and a unique framework.
Session 3: Focus on somatically settling the nervous system while setting boundaries and learn how to maintain boundaries, even in anxiety-inducing contexts.
After completing the initial three-session series, clients are eligible for ongoing coaching support:
1:1 ongoing coaching: These personalized sessions are tailored to your evolving needs, helping you deepen your understanding and practice of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. Whether you need regular check-ins or support with specific challenges, ongoing coaching ensures you have the tools and confidence to uphold your boundaries effectively in all areas of your life. Session length and duration can be customized for your needs.
“Tune up” sessions: These 20-minute appointments are designed for individuals who need to address specific issues or challenges as they arise. Whether it's refining a boundary, navigating a new situation, or simply needing a quick check-in, tune-up sessions offer flexible and focused support to help you maintain and strengthen your boundaries over time.

FAQ:
How is coaching different than therapy?
While therapy delves into understanding and resolving deeper emotional and psychological challenges, coaching focuses on helping individuals achieve specific personal and professional goals through practical guidance and support.
When we meet for a coaching session, we are focused on future goals rather than healing from past experiences. It may be an important part of the work to discuss how historical patterns might contribute to the present, but our primary goal is to focus on the future.
Coaching helps identify obstacles and we will brainstorm ways to manage and remove these obstacles. Through coaching, we will come up with new and creative approaches to get you where you want to be.
Therapy is often open-ended, while coaching is more specialized and directive. I focus my coaching sessions specifically on boundary work, helping you develop the skills you need to promote healthy boundaries in various contexts.
Therapy can be long-term, while coaching is often shorter-term, though needs may vary.
How LONG are coaching sessions?
The foundational three-session series includes three 90-minute sessions.
Ongoing 1:1 coaching sessions (eligible after the foundational series is completed) vary in duration and cadence to be determined collaboratively based on your needs. Most clients request 30min-1hr on a regular cadence.
“Tune-up” sessions (eligible after the foundational series is completed) are 20 minutes in length, designed as a quick check-in, to workshop a specific scenario, or review a concept or challenge.
How much are coaching sessions?
The three-session series is required to establish a foundational understanding of boundary work. The total cost for this series is $1000 and full payment is due at the time of our first session. The three sessions must be completed within a year but can be scheduled within that year at the client’s convenience. This foundational series includes a 12% discount off the hourly rate for ongoing sessions.
Ongoing 1:1 coaching sessions (eligible after the foundational series is completed) is charged at a prorated hourly rate of $250/hr.
“Tune-up” sessions are $85.
Sliding scale options are available, with priority to queer, gender expansive, and BIPOC folks and activists focused on anti-oppression organizing. Please contact me if the standard rate will prevent you from accessing services.
